HDF – Heavy Duty Flush
Industrial-Grade Cooling System Cleaner for Burnt Glycol
Overview
HDF is Ultimate Chemicals’ specialized solution for tackling burnt glycol in engine cooling systems.
As part of the Zero Hour Certified Cooling System Program, HDF effectively removes degraded glycol, restoring optimal heat transfer and engine performance.
HDF is the only flush on the market proven to dissolve burnt glycol—commonly known as ‘The Black Death’—making it the industry’s one-of-a-kind solution for severe coolant system contamination.
Why It Matters
Burnt glycol compromises cooling efficiency, leading to higher operating temperatures and increased engine wear. HDF addresses this issue by breaking down and removing degraded glycol, ensuring your system operates at peak efficiency.
Key Benefits
- Restores optimal heat transfer by removing degraded glycol
- Enhances engine performance and longevity
- Part of the comprehensive Zero Hour Certified Cooling System Program
- Safe for all engine components
- Easy to apply with straightforward instructions
Application
- Step 3 in the Zero Hour Certified Cooling System Program
- Applied after external cleaning (CC300 and B.A.D.) and Enhanced Coolant Analysis (ECA)
- Follow the provided instructions for optimal results
THE BLACK DEATH KILLER

ULTIMATE CHEMICALS HDF – HEAVY DUTY FLUSH PROCEDURES
STEP 1
- Record water pump pressure and all temps.
- Shutdown/Remove Surge Tank Cap.
- Drain coolant and dispose old coolant.
- Remove Surge/Day Tank Caps.
- Install 1” ball valve on each side of block underneath rail.
- Fill with HDF (Ready to Use) until overflow from Surge/Day Tank.
- Run Unit 168 hours to 336 hours.
STEP 2
- Shutdown/Remove Surge Tank Cap.
- Power wash Surge Tank with STH - Surge Tank Hose (while still hot and full). Let particles overflow. (15-20 min)
- Drain Flush via ball valve on each side of block underneath rail. (dispose as you would old coolant)
- Fill SLOWLY with HDF (Ready to Use) until overflow from Surge/Day Tank.
- Run Unit 168 hours to 336 hours.
STEP 3
- Shutdown/Remove Surge Tank Cap.
- Power wash Surge Tank with STH - Surge Tank Hose (while still hot and full). Let particles overflow. (15-20 min)
- Drain Flush via ball valve on each side of block underneath rail. (dispose as you would old coolant)
- (Rust Removal Flush – If needed)
- Fill with RRF - Rust Removal Flush and run 2 hours at temp. Drain Flush and dispose as you would old coolant.
- (Phosphate Removal Flush – If needed)
- Fill with PO4FIX - Phosphate Removal Flush and run 4 hours at temp. Drain Flush and dispose.
- Fill SLOWLY with deionized water until overflow from Surge/Day Tank.
- Run Unit until up to temperature and thermostats open.
- Continue to pump in deionized water until overflow at the top from Surge/Day Tank and ball valves on other side. (2 x volume) overflow until clean.
- Inspect water pump and thermostats and replace if needed.
- Drain Unit / Fill with New Coolant*
*(Best Practice) NEVER LEAVE OR RUN WITH WATER ONLY!
*(Fill with coolant mix and CRI – Corrosion Rust Inhibitor – recommended)
