ULTIMATE CHEMICALS HDF – HEAVY DUTY FLUSH PROCEDURES

STEP 1

  1. Record water pump pressure and all temps.
  2. Shutdown/Remove Surge Tank Cap.
  3. Drain coolant and dispose old coolant.
  4. Remove Surge/Day Tank Caps.
  5. Install 1” ball valve on each side of block underneath rail.
  6. Fill with HDF (Ready to Use) until overflow from Surge/Day Tank.
  7. Run Unit 168 hours to 336 hours.

STEP 2

  1. Shutdown/Remove Surge Tank Cap.
  2. Power wash Surge Tank with STH - Surge Tank Hose (while still hot and full). Let particles overflow. (15-20 min)
  3. Drain Flush via ball valve on each side of block underneath rail. (dispose as you would old coolant)
  4. Fill SLOWLY with HDF (Ready to Use) until overflow from Surge/Day Tank.
  5. Run Unit 168 hours to 336 hours.

STEP 3

  1. Shutdown/Remove Surge Tank Cap.
  2. Power wash Surge Tank with STH - Surge Tank Hose (while still hot and full). Let particles overflow. (15-20 min)
  3. Drain Flush via ball valve on each side of block underneath rail. (dispose as you would old coolant)
  4. (Rust Removal Flush – If needed)
    1. Fill with RRF - Rust Removal Flush and run 2 hours at temp. Drain Flush and dispose as you would old coolant.
  5. (Phosphate Removal Flush – If needed)
    1. Fill with PO4FIX - Phosphate Removal Flush and run 4 hours at temp. Drain Flush and dispose.
  6. Fill SLOWLY with deionized water until overflow from Surge/Day Tank.
  7. Run Unit until up to temperature and thermostats open.
  8. Continue to pump in deionized water until overflow at the top from Surge/Day Tank and ball valves on other side. (2 x volume) overflow until clean.
  9. Inspect water pump and thermostats and replace if needed.
  10. Drain Unit / Fill with New Coolant*

*(Best Practice) NEVER LEAVE OR RUN WITH WATER ONLY!

*(Fill with coolant mix and CRI – Corrosion Rust Inhibitor – recommended)
