ULTIMATE CHEMICALS HDF – HEAVY DUTY FLUSH PROCEDURES
STEP 1
- Record water pump pressure and all temps.
- Shutdown/Remove Surge Tank Cap.
- Drain coolant and dispose.
- Remove Surge/Day Tank Caps.
- Install 1” ball valve on each side of block underneath rail.
- Fill with HDF (Ready to Use) until overflow from Surge/Day Tank.
- Run Unit 168 hours to 336 hours.
STEP 2
- Shutdown/Remove Surge Tank Cap.
- Power wash Surge Tank with STH - Surge Tank Hose (while still hot and full). Let particles overflow. (15-20 min)
- Drain Flush via ball valve on each side of block underneath rail. (dispose)
- Fill with HDF (Ready to Use) until overflow from Surge/Day Tank.
- Run Unit 168 hours to 336 hours.
STEP 3
- Shutdown/Remove Surge Tank Cap.
- Power wash Surge Tank with STH - Surge Tank Hose (while still hot and full). Let particles overflow. (15-20 min)
- Drain Flush via ball valve on each side of block underneath rail. (dispose as you would old coolant)
- (Rust Removal Flush – If needed)
- Fill with RRF - Rust Removal Flush and run 2 hours at temp. Drain Flush and dispose.
- (Phosphate Removal Flush – If needed)
- Fill with PO4FIX - Phosphate Removal Flush and run 4 hours at temp. Drain Flush and dispose.
- Fill with deionized water until overflow from Surge/Day Tank.
- Run Unit until up to temperature and thermostats open.
- Continue to pump in deionized water until overflow at the top from Surge/Day Tank and ball valves on other side. (2 x volume) overflow until clean.
- Inspect water pump and replace thermostats.
- Drain Unit / Fill with New Coolant*
*(Best Practice) Do not leave or run with water only.
*(Fill with coolant mix and CRI – Corrosion Rust Inhibitor – recommended)
